International Seminar: « The Battle of Waterloo: a symbol of victory, of defeat and a place of remembrance »

7 March 2015

The Asbl Bataille de Waterloo 1815, in partnership with the Fondation Napoléon, is organising an International Seminar that will take place on Saturday 7 March 2015, from 9h to 17h at St John’s International School in Waterloo.

After 200 years of history, the Battle of Waterloo still has the power to touch people and to fire the collective imagination. For some it is a symbol of the victory of the monarchy or of European solidarity, for others it is a place of remembrance. What really were the consequences of this great battle?

Renowned international speakers will be bringing a different perspective to this historical event through a series of major lectures, presenting new, pertinent aspects of the theme that, up until now,  have never been suggested.

The cost to attend this conference is 12€ per person and pre-registration is required. Applications close on Wednesday 25 February 2015.

A book summarising the lectures will be on sale at a later date.

Information and the registration form are available on the www.visitwaterloo.be website.
